Accessibility
Statement
Vault & Hide believes that everyone deserves equal access to great leather — regardless of ability, device, or circumstance. We are committed to making vaultandhide.com accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice control software, or keyboard-only navigation.
Accessibility is not a one-time project. It is an ongoing responsibility. We conduct regular audits to identify and fix barriers as our website evolves. This statement documents our current status, what we have achieved, and where we are still working to improve.
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines cover four core principles:
- Perceivable — information must be presentable in ways users can perceive.
- Operable — user interface components must be operable by all users.
- Understandable — content and interface must be understandable.
- Robust — content must be interpreted reliably by assistive technologies.
We also reference the EN 301 549 European accessibility standard and take guidance from UK Government accessibility requirements as a benchmark for best practice.
The following features have been implemented across vaultandhide.com:
Decorative images carry an empty alt="" attribute so screen readers skip them. Product images carry descriptive alt text including material, colour, and style information.
We are aware of a small number of issues not yet fully resolved. We list them here in the spirit of transparency.
If you encounter an issue not listed here, please report it using the contact details in section 7. We aim to acknowledge all reports within two business days.
Our website includes content and tools provided by third parties, including payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Klarna), social media embeds, and live chat software. While we select providers who take accessibility seriously, we cannot fully guarantee the accessibility of content outside our direct control.
If you experience an accessibility barrier caused by a third-party tool on our site, please contact us. We will provide an alternative route to complete your task or escalate the issue to the relevant provider.
We review the accessibility compliance of key third-party suppliers annually as part of our vendor management process.
We test our website with the following assistive technologies:
- NVDA with Firefox (Windows)
- JAWS with Chrome (Windows)
- VoiceOver with Safari (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack with Chrome (Android)
- Dragon NaturallySpeaking (Windows)
- Voice Control (macOS and iOS)
We support the latest two major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. If you use an assistive technology not listed above and experience difficulty, please get in touch — your feedback directly informs our testing priorities.
If you cannot access any part of this website, find something difficult to use, or need content in an alternative format — please contact us. We will respond promptly and work with you to find a solution.
We aim to respond to all accessibility-related enquiries within 2 business days. For urgent requests — for example, where you need to complete a purchase or access order information — please use live chat for the fastest response.
When reporting an issue, it helps us if you can tell us: the page URL, the task you were trying to complete, the assistive technology and browser you were using, and a brief description of what went wrong.
If you have contacted us about an accessibility issue and are not satisfied with our response, or if you believe we are not meeting our legal obligations, you have the right to escalate your complaint.
